Happy New Year! Welcome to my final portfolio update for 2024.

  • Risk Score: 6 (Medium)

Market Insights: December 2024

The U.S. stock market experienced a downturn in December, with major indices delivering mixed results:

  • S&P 500: -2.5%
  • Dow Jones Industrial Average: -5.27%
  • Nasdaq Composite: +0.39%

This decline can be attributed to several factors, including profit-taking after a strong year, concerns over high valuations, and uncertainties surrounding economic policies.

While my portfolio declined by 12.46% in December, it has significantly outperformed the broader market over the entire year, achieving a remarkable +46.68% return. For comparison:

  • S&P 500 (Annual): +23.3%
  • Dow Jones (Annual): +12.9%
  • Nasdaq Composite (Annual): +28.6%

Despite December’s dip, I’m proud of the overall results, which highlight the effectiveness of my strategy in capitalizing on market opportunities.

Looking Ahead: Strategy for 2025

As we move into 2025, I am approaching the markets with a balanced perspective, acknowledging both the opportunities and the challenges:

  • Opportunities: Economic growth, technological advancements, and market recovery potential.
  • Risks: High valuations and policy uncertainties.

I will continue to monitor the markets daily and make strategic adjustments to maximize returns while maintaining a medium-risk profile.
