A positive day for Wall Street yesterday
On Tuesday, all three major US indexes closed in profit.
The S&P 500 finished at +1.30%, the Nasdaq ended the trading session at +1.58% and the Dow Jones closed at +0.98%.
The investors’ sentiment is Fear, as indicated in the graph below:

The market sentiment is 32, in “Fear” mode, up from last week’s data in Extreme Fear.
It’s Fed Day
Investors around the world are all eyes on today’s Federal Reserve meeting.
The decision about the next interest rate hike will be published today at 18:00 GMT and Jerome Powel, Fed chairman, will attend a press conference at 18:30 GMT.
Today’s decision is particularly tough because, given the recent failure of three US banks, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) members have to choose to vote for an interest rate increase to bring inflation down or to not hike the interest rate to avoid a crisis in the financial system.
The meeting today will include the updated rate projections for the first time since December which will indicate if there will be additional rate increases this year.
The majority of the economists, 90.08%, are expecting a rate hike of 0.25%, as shown in the graph below:
The remaining 9.2% is expecting no rate increase this time.
Markets will be volatile due to this event.
